MLTI (Maine Learning Technology Initiative)
In September 2002. The middle schools in the State of Maine have started a tradition on providing the student with there own laptop. That laptop are being used for educational use. The teachers as well as the students have learned how to use there piece of technology a learning tool. The student have also learned how to communicate with there teacher through email and other ways. Some school even provide the students with a email account through there website. The laptop that these students are using is iBooks G4. These laptop are always used once a day. Some schools can monitor there students activity on the computer from there laptop. The program that is used is called Apple Remote Desktop. This is a very useful tool to teachers. The teachers can take full control of there computer if need. As well as shut down there computer, Lock it out, Talk to them on IM, etc. The laptops get updated every year as well as wiped out.
